We have copious evidence that CBD has anti-inflammatory and autoimmune benefits, which may suggest that CBD may have benefits with addressing symptoms and treatment of COVID.
Clinical trials have previously shown that many people with underlying inflammatory conditions have benefited from CBD. Additional studies have revealed multiple mechanisms of action as to how CBD impacts and reduces inflammation. These mechanisms of action have led to evidence that CBD and other cannabinoids offer benefits in providing relief of symptoms associated with various inflammatory conditions. These include:
- Arthritis, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Crohn’s Disease, Colitis, IBS
- Other inflammatory conditions
We cannot tell you that CBD or cannabinoids can be a definitive treatment for these or any other medical condition, but CBD can offer an alternative or adjunctive [add on] therapy to manage many conditions and symptoms associated with these conditions.
A recent study, not yet peer-reviewed, shows that CBD may offer some benefits in treating COVID. This study identifies specific ways in which CBD can reduce inflammation associated specifically associated with COVID. The study identifies high CBD content strains, similar to what you would find in our CBD products, including tinctures, gummies and gel caps. The results of this study suggest that an oral delivery system would be optimal, such as a tincture or gummy. The study does suggest that there may specific strains, which would suggest that different terpene profiles and other minor cannabinoids, such as CBG or CBN, may have an additional impact on the overall benefits of CBD with treating COVID.
There are ongoing studies looking deeper into the potential benefits of CBD with COVID. Does that mean you have to wait until more information is available to consider CBD for treatment or prevention of COVID? The answer is no. We have a very large amount of evidence that documents the safety of CBD. We also know that CBD helps with many other conditions and symptoms. So, if you have any ongoing issues with anxiety, sleep, pain, inflammation, joint pain, muscle pain among a few, you have other reasons to try CBD. If you do not have any other reasons to use CBD, rest assure that it is safe and may be worth trying. Once again, we cannot tell you that CBD will treat or stop COVID, or any other medical condition. We cannot tell you specifically what strain or dose of CBD would be optimized specifically for COVID, but we can provide you with some guidance and directions for the use of CBD.
At Maxxam CBD we design strain-specific product, CBD products with other cannabinoids such as CBG and CBN, and additional terpenes to address specific symptoms and conditions. Please review our line of tinctures, gummies, gel caps and topicals.
